I have the same problem, and the same question. Since getting the Nikon Z6 I have not been able to use my SMDV Briht-360 since the Flashwave 5 transmitter seems to not be compatible. I too would like to know if there is an update coming or if I should switch to another system... (another flash system that is, I love my new Z6!).

I am Unsinn the Bright 360 and the Flashwave 5-TX for some time now and its working perfectly. No Problems at all. After changing the System from Nikon D750 to the Nikon Z6 System, the Flashwave doesn't trigger. Checking with other Nikon Cameras, the Flashwave is still working. I there an update available for the Flashwave to make it running with the Nikon Z6?
